Bon Villa Guesthouse
Vintage charm, panoramic views and a spacious garden among the hills of Zala
A warm welcome awaits you at Bon Villa Guesthouse, a charming country retreat created from an old wine cellar, where the character of the past, vintage style and modern comfort come together.
Built into the hillside, the house has a particularly unique layout: from one side the accommodation is on an upper level, while from the other it opens directly onto the garden. The guest area consists of the living space created above the original wine cellar and the cosy attic above.
Bon Villa is a place for anyone wishing to escape everyday life for a few days and enjoy the peace and quiet of the countryside. We welcome solo travellers and couples as well as families with children – whether for a relaxing weekend outside the main season, a romantic getaway or a longer summer holiday.
The individually designed interior combines vintage character with modern comfort, while the large garden surrounding the house offers plenty of space for relaxation, play and time together as a family.
35 + 22 m² of individually designed living space
Bon Villa offers 35 m² of living space on the main level plus a 22 m² attic, combining the original character of the old building with the comforts expected by today's travellers.
The main level includes a well-equipped kitchen, combined living and sleeping area, bathroom and one of the most distinctive parts of the house: the panoramic dining room created from the former glazed veranda.
A space-saving alternating-tread staircase, sometimes known as a butterfly staircase, leads from the main living area to the attic.
Living and sleeping area
The vintage-style living and sleeping area features a double bed for two adults.
There is also a convertible sofa bed providing two additional sleeping places. Due to its size and design, we recommend these sleeping places primarily for children or, at most, teenagers.
Open shelving and hanging space are provided for clothes and personal belongings.
When designing the interior, our aim was to preserve the distinctive character of an old country house while providing the comfort needed for a relaxing stay.
The attic hideaway – a little world of its own
One of the most distinctive features of Bon Villa is its 22 m² open-plan attic hideaway.
The attic is particularly appealing to children and teenagers, giving them a cosy space of their own. It can accommodate up to three children, while its layout also allows sleeping arrangements for two adults and one child.
Please note that due to the sloping roof, the ceiling height varies. It is approximately 163 cm at the lower section and 190 cm at the higher section. For this reason, the attic may be less comfortable for taller adults, while children, teenagers and shorter adults will find it a particularly cosy sleeping and relaxation area.
Access to the attic is via an alternating-tread butterfly staircase from the main living area.
For families, the layout works especially well: parents can sleep on the double bed downstairs, while the attic can become the children's own little hideaway.
Panoramic veranda – one of Bon Villa's most beautiful spaces
The former glazed veranda has been transformed into a bright and inviting dining room and is perhaps the most spectacular part of the guesthouse.
Large windows provide almost panoramic views, allowing guests to enjoy the garden and the surrounding Zala countryside over breakfast, an afternoon coffee or a glass of wine.
One of the special features of the veranda is that it creates a connection between the house and its natural surroundings whatever the weather. Even on a rainy or cooler day, the landscape can be enjoyed from the comfort of indoors.
The dining table comfortably seats five guests.
Well-equipped kitchen
The kitchen has been designed and equipped to make not only a weekend stay but also a longer holiday comfortable and convenient.
Facilities include:
- dishwasher,
- electric hob,
- oven,
- built-in refrigerator,
- microwave,
- Nespresso coffee machine,
- toaster,
- kettle,
- milk frother.
Whether you are preparing a quick breakfast or sitting down for a family lunch or dinner, everything you need is close at hand.
Spacious bathroom with rustic character
The bathroom features a generous 80 × 120 cm shower enclosure, a rustic washbasin and WC.
Here too, the design follows the character of the house, combining a warm country and vintage atmosphere with the practical comforts required for everyday use.
Travelling with small children
At Bon Villa, we have also thought about our youngest guests.
We would like to make travelling with small children a little easier by providing some of the useful items that otherwise take up valuable space in the car.
Families can use:
- a high chair,
- a small plastic baby bath,
- a child's toilet seat reducer,
- child-friendly plastic plates and bowls,
- plastic cups.
Wi-Fi internet access is also available throughout the guesthouse.
1,500 m² garden – Bon Villa's second living room
The garden is just as much a part of the Bon Villa experience as the house itself.
In front of the guesthouse is a large stone terrace, surrounded by approximately 1,500 m² of lawn and garden.
Fruit trees, hazelnut bushes and, of course, a beautiful old walnut tree providing welcome shade create a natural and relaxing country atmosphere.
The spacious lawn provides plenty of room for children to play and adults to relax, sunbathe or simply sit outside with a book, a cup of coffee or a glass of wine and enjoy the tranquillity of the countryside.
Playground and outdoor fun for children
Children have their own playground, sandpit and a small trampoline in the garden.
The large lawn also offers plenty of space to run around and enjoy outdoor games.
On sunny days, the garden can easily become the centre of family life: while the children play, parents can relax on the terrace or elsewhere in the garden.
Together, the attic hideaway and spacious garden mean that children have their own special spaces both indoors and outdoors.
Barbecue, fire pit and long evenings in the garden
A garden barbecue and a separate fire pit are also available for our guests.
Cooking outdoors, enjoying dinner in the garden after a day of exploring the area, or simply spending the evening talking around the fire can become just as much a part of your Bon Villa experience as the house itself.
There is no need to hurry here. On a warm summer evening, the day can simply continue on the terrace or in the garden.
Peace for couples, shared experiences for families
Bon Villa can be an intimate countryside retreat for two and, at the same time, an exciting holiday home for a family with children.
For couples, the panoramic veranda, spacious garden, stone terrace and tranquillity of the surroundings provide the perfect setting to slow down and unwind.
For families, the house reveals a completely different side. Children have their own attic hideaway, playground, sandpit, trampoline and a large garden to explore, while practical equipment is also available for the youngest members of the family.
Breakfast together on the panoramic veranda, playing in the garden, barbecuing and spending an evening around the fire create the kind of simple shared moments that make a countryside getaway memorable.
A house for those looking for something more personal
Bon Villa is not a conventional hotel experience.
It is a house that has grown from the character of an old wine cellar and has been given a new life while preserving the atmosphere of the original building.
Vintage details, modern comfort, a panoramic dining room, cosy attic, spacious garden, fruit trees and the tranquillity of the countryside await our guests.
Hide away here for a few days as a couple, explore the Zala countryside with the children, enjoy breakfast on the panoramic veranda, relax in the garden in the afternoon and end the day with a barbecue or an evening around the fire.
A little world of their own for the children, peace and panoramic views for the adults – and a place where the whole family can simply enjoy being together.
Bon Villa – a place where it feels good to arrive and where you may just wish to stay a little longer.
